Operation Marcedonia

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and complementing national development goals, the Bridging Gaps Foundation (BGF) recently completed a major outreach program in Nyanga District, reaching thousands of families with essential support.

In collaboration with the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) City Centre Church, BGF delivered critical interventions across health, food security, and infrastructure, directly benefiting over 3,000 households and 800 patients.

Key Achievements:

  • 60 tonnes of food aid distributed to more than 3,000 households

  • 800 patients received free medical care through mobile clinics and outreach programs

  • 10 boreholes drilled, providing access to clean, safe water for schools, clinics, and communities

  • Kambudzi Clinic was supplied with beds, linen, and wheelchairs, improving healthcare delivery in the area

Long-Term Commitment

These efforts form part of our broader vision to alleviate hardship, promote health, and uplift underserved communities, aligning with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030.

At the official handover event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Nyanga North Legislator, Honourable Chido Sanyatwe, applauded the foundation’s work, highlighting its positive impact on local families. She also expressed hope for further support in the development of a local vocational training centre.

Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Retired Lieutenant General Anselem Sanyatwe, commended BGF Founder, Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei, for his longstanding service to national food security through his role in Command Agriculture.

The event also featured remarks from Pastor Godfrey Musara, President of the SDA East Union Conference, who emphasized the importance of peace and collaboration in achieving meaningful progress.

Speaking at the event, Dr Tagwirei reaffirmed BGF’s dedication to the Nyanga community, announcing that five full-time staff members will soon be stationed in the constituency to manage ongoing projects and community engagement.

“We are here to listen, assist and walk alongside you. Our mission is not just to preach, but to uplift lives in practical ways,” said Dr Tagwirei.

Mrs Sandra Tagwirei, co-founder of BGF, added:

“We may not be able to solve every problem, but we are committed to easing burdens where we can. We are grateful to the local leaders and community for welcoming us.”

A Model for Sustainable Development

The new boreholes are expected to significantly improve sanitation, health, and educational outcomes by ensuring reliable water access. This intervention is an example of how private-public partnerships can drive sustainable development and transform lives.

As we continue our work, the Bridging Gaps Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to serve with compassion, build resilient communities, and create lasting impact across Zimbabwe.
